Property Description
This sunny and delightful 3BR/2.5BA home is full of style and light! The open, reverse, floor plan with kitchen/living/dining upstairs allows natural light to stream in adding extra warmth to your private nest. You will love the spacious kitchen for entertaining, the huge pantry, and the high ceiling. Convenient in-town living on a beautiful forested street close to trails, schools and the museum. Due to the continuous forest in this neighborhood, there is abundant wildlife all year long - cranes love to land and wander on the quiet street, hawks soar around the tree tops, and moose and their calves meander through the yards.
The Sellers installed a lovely patio in the back side yard that provides a quiet sun-filled spot to start and end your day. Have your morning tea/coffee here and then unwind at the end of the day as the sun floods in from the west.
The home has a surprising amount of storage with a huge pantry directly off the kitchen, ample closets in each bedroom, under-stair storage, a 358 sq ft garage, and a 660 sq ft dry crawlspace.
Efficient natural gas heat: Rinnai heater downstairs and cozy Jotul stove upstairs. 5* energy rating.
SELLER'S COMMENTS:
What We Love about 502 Noview:
Light
From the bright and airy upstairs to the built-in, motion sensor lights in the pantry and downstairs baths, every space has ample light.
Kitchen
This is by far the best kitchen of any home we've lived in. With its highly functional layout and plenty of space to work, we've loved cooking delicious meals and hosting friends and family.
Efficient Floor Plan
This home truly makes good use of every square inch and lives larger than its square footage. The open upstairs has plenty of room where you need it most, and the downstairs rooms are just the right size.
Storage
That pantry! Plus an easily accessible, dry crawlspace AND a heated garage, our home has so many storage options.
Patio
We've had so many wonderful, sunny afternoons and evenings on the patio, we are really going to miss this part of our home. Even when the summer breeze is blowing in town, the patio is tucked into the trees so it's almost always calm.
Berries
We've spent years planting diverse berries in the back yard, and we are excited for others to watch them continue to grow (and enjoy their deliciousness!). There are numerous varieties of strawberries, currants, haskaps, gooseberries, saskatoons and raspberries.
Location
This is one of the best locations in town! Noview is a very low-traffic street so it's nice and quiet, but we're just a short distance to downtown, the hospital and several schools. It's a ten-minute walk to the playground at Karen Hornaday park or to the beach at the end of Crittenden Dr (by the Ocean Shores Resort).
Neighbors
From lending us gardening tools as we transformed the landscaping, to towing our car out of a snowbank and bringing us gifts of freshly caught halibut, we've loved being surrounded by folks who are always willing to lend a hand.
Trails
One of our very favorite things about living here has been walking down to the trails by the Pratt Museum and Homer Middle School.
Wildlife
Being right in town, we didn't expect to see so much wildlife in the neighborhood. We've had mama and baby moose napping in the back yard, cranes dancing in the front yard, and a resident porcupine next door. Not to mention an incredible variety of songbirds that flit through the 30 or so trees on the lot.
